A woman who gave birth to rabbits

Every species in the world give birth to their species like human gave births to human and animal gave birth to animal, but there is a story in history that a woman gave birth to rabbits.

Who was a lady to give birth to rabbits?

Her name was Mary Toft and was an English born in Godalming, Surrey.

She was become the subject of discussing when she delivered a rabbit.

Mary Toft was born in 1701 in a town of Godalming, Surrey. In 1720 she marries Joshua Toft, a journey man clothier and together the couple had three children, Mary, Anne and James.

In 1926 she came into news when she announced that she is giving  birth to rabbits. She claim to have birth to several animal parts or flesh. A local sergeon John Howard investigated the matter and then he delivered several pieces of animal flesh and duly  notified other prominent physicians, which brought the case to the attention of Nathenial St. Andre, surgeon to the Royal Household of King George I.

She was then brought to London where she was closely examined by different physicians and surgeon to know what is happening under the strict control of Nathenial St. Andre’s including John Maubray.

But there she neither give a birth to any rabbit nor a animal flesh. Which created a doubt in the investigation team mind?

Confession:
Thomas and Baron Onslow had begun an investigation of their own and discovered that for the past month Toft’s husband , Joshua had been buying young rabbits. On 7 December 1726 Toft finally confessed in the presence of Manningham, Douglas, john Montagu and Frederick Calvert that it was all hoax.

Following her miscarriage and while her cervix permitted into her womb the claws and body of a cat, and the head of a rabbit. Toft claim that during her pregnancy and while working in a field, she had been startled by a rabbit, and had since become obsessed with rabbits. For later parturitions, animal parts had been inserted into her vagina.
