Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah: The Richest Monarch


Hassanal Bolkiah (born 15 July 1946) is the 29th and current Sultan of Brunei and the Prime Minister of Brunei, Yang Di-Pertuan. He was one of the last absolute emperors of the world. The eldest son of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin III and King Istri (Queen) Pengiran Anak Damit, he ascended the throne as Sultan of Brunei after the abduction of his father on 5 October 1967.


The Sultan was ranked among the richest in the world. In 2008, Forbes estimated the Sultan's net worth at US $ 20 billion. After Queen Elizabeth II, the Sultan was the second tallest current emperor in the world. On 5 October 2017, the Sultan celebrated his golden jubilee to mark the 50th year of his reign on the throne.


Early life and education.

Sultan was born on July 15, 1946, in Istana Darussalam, Brunei Town (now known as Bandar Seri Begawan, now known as Pengiran Muda (Prince) Hasanal Bolkia.


Rule.

He became the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam on 5 October 1967 after his father retired. His coronation took place on 1 August 1968, and he was made the Young De-Portuan of Brunei. Like his father, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, of whom Brunei was his patron until 1984.

Adam Rainer: A man who was both a Dwarf and a giant.

  Adam Rainer  (1899   – 4 March 1950) was the only person in recorded history  to have been both a dwarf  and a giant .  He is believed to have had acromegaly. Rainer was born in Graz, Austria-Hungary  (present day Austria ), in 1899.   In 1917, at age 18, he was measured at 122.55 cm (4 ft 0.25 in), then in 1918, at age 19, he was measured at 111.5 cm (3 ft 7.9 in).
